RealRadio Bridge
Download the RealRadio Bridge installer for Windows. This connects your simulator to the RealRadio network, including SimConnect integration, screenshot capture, and flight tracking.
Standard Radio Phrases
-
Start Contact: “[Callsign], [Station], request radio check, [frequency].”
Example: “G-ABCD, London Information, request radio check, 118.5.” - Change Frequency: “[Callsign], change to [frequency].”
- Position Report: “[Callsign], [position], [altitude], [intentions].”
- Readback: “Read back clearance/instruction verbatim.”
Good Practice
- Use plain, concise English. No slang or CB-style chatter on aviation channels.
- Guard is monitored — keep it clear for emergencies.
- Identify first, then speak. Avoid “stepping on” others.
- Use the sim’s PTT binding; hold, speak, release. Leave a short gap between transmissions.
HF & SELCAL
HF introduces atmospheric noise and longer range. If you have a SELCAL code, expect a chime on HF routes; acknowledge and move the conversation to ACARS/SATCOM if appropriate.
- SELCAL format:
AB-CD; unique while your subscription is active. - Keep HF transmissions short; confirm with ACARS when possible.
Community & Misuse
- No harassment, impersonation, or deliberate interference.
- Keep non-aviation chat off aviation frequencies.
- Abuse is reportable; repeat offenders will be removed.
ACARS & SATCOM
Use templated ACARS messages for faults, delays, OOOI, and position reports. Xbox users can use the Elden-Ring–style composer (Categories → Phrases).
- Emergency: MAYDAY / PAN-PAN via voice; follow up with ACARS.
- OOOI auto-fills from SimVars; review before sending.
